Final Project: Edible Art
After painting delicious desserts last month it only seemed fair that we could end the year actually decorating our own cupcakes. Edible Art, Wayne Thiebaud eat your heart out!

It's a Pretty Good Forecast in 8-B!
9th Age Boys Create 'Mythical Beasts'
After a lot of hard work constructing, paper maching, painting and gluing the mythical beasts are finished and on display in the library. The parameters of the project were that the students had to make animals from bottles, cans, paper towel rolls, etc. and that it couldn't be taller then their waist. ( I was a bit concerned we were going to run out of paper mache) The animals that they made were either a complete fabrication from their own imaginations or a combinations of attributes from two or three animals. There are some pretty wild animals that were created by the boys, I've featured some of them below.

Collage Animals
Budding Architects
The 8th age boys have been busy building and constructing designs from wood scraps over the past few weeks. These future architects have created some amazingly colorful structures. The amount of time and thought that the boys used while working was really impressive. One day a student in 8-1 came to ask me my opinion of, "the area surrounding the elevator shaft and should it be left exposed or covered". I hope you can see just how much thought went into these designs, ask any 8th age boy and I am sure they would be more then happy to explain their design to you.

Mexican Tin Art
Today was the last Art Club, boy did the time fly by! We finished off the spring session with Mexican Tin Art Mirrors. Each student designed 3 symmetrical squares and embossed them onto the tin. We then painted each square with black ink after it dried we rubbed it off with steel wool and then added a mirror to the center square. Below are some of the end results.
