7-A Animals

The last of the 7th age classes have completed their animal portraits. 7-A really selecteda wide array of animals to paint. Below I've included just some of their varied choices: a peacock, Mama & Baby Chimp, and a Stingray.

2009 Door Decor Contest

For the third year in a row the Halls of the Lower School have been brightened by the Annual Door Decor Contest. The teachers and the students came up with some really creative door designs. After a week of decorating and a week of voting by all the students and some teachers as well, the results are in.... Enjoy the movie to find out the results and winners. To end the celebration the students wore Black and Gold on Friday and had a special treat at snack.

The Boys' Animal Portraits

Just like the girls of 7th age the boys have been hard at work on Animal Portraits. Enjoy their whimsical creations, be sure to check out the pink gorilla and dinosaur!

Spring Printmaking

The Lower School Art Club has completed another project. Below are each of the participants Printmaking projects. With Spring in mind the theme for the project was insects. After careful sketching the students then carved their designs into foam plates later rolling the plates with ink their designs were transferred to paper. Although each student created 6 prints they picked their 3 most successful to mat and display. Enjoy!

Aboriginal Art

The 8th agers learned about Aborigine Art of Australia recently. We watched a movie about the history of the Aborigines and saw multiple examples of their painting styles both ancient and contemporary. Using QTips to make dots the students picked an animal and represented it in the style of the Aboriginal Artists.

Our House Is a Very, Very, Very Fine House

The 8th agers have completed their second clay project this year, below are the clay houses they have made. With chimneys, pools, front doors, and shingles the details were varied and well done by all the 8th age artists.

7-B's Animal Portraits

The girls of 7-B have been hard at work the past few classes creating colorful animal portraits. With a lot of tempera paint and patience they successfully made beautiful and fun paintings, enjoy!

9-B's Earth Day Posters

The third group of 9th agers have completed their Earth Day posters. This group in particular had really vibrant designs and creative slogans. Well done!
