Can you feel the love?

To keep with the season the 8th age girls learned about American Artist Jim Dine and his signature painting of "Four Hearts". To 'activate the negative space' similar to what Mr. Dine did with his own painting the girls worked in layers to recreate the colorful background and foreground he created. We began with crayons, colored pencils, tissue paper, construction paper and finished off with tempera paint. The end result are bold and vivid Valentine's tributes. Next week the girls will be heading to the BMA where perhaps they will be able to see some Jim Dine works up close, stay tuned!
