Imagining We Are In The Garden At Giverny
The 8th Age girls have been learning about french artist Claude Monet and studying various examples of his work. Last summer through a Garrett Grant I was able to go to France and see many of Monet's masterpieces firsthand. I also visited Giverny Monet's famous home outside of Paris. I shared my photographs and experience with the girls as well as multiple books. It was through this inspiration that the girls' then selected a Monet master piece to re create. The girls used Cray pas to mimic his impressionist brushstrokes. They worked incredibly hard and were very patient in attempting to "paint like Monet". I have put both their example as well as the finished product on display so everyone can appreciate their hard work. Well done ladies, Monet would be proud!
