Starry Night

While the girls in the 8th age learned about Claude Monet the boys were learning about Vincent Van Gogh. We learned about his whole career but in the end focused on one of his most famous paintings, "Starry Night". Each of the boys had to really focus on each of Van Gogh's brushstrokes and the color palette he used. This required a clot of careful observation and patience to re-render his masterpiece. During this process the boys really grew to appreciate Van Gogh's genius and style of working. By the end of the painting the boys were lamenting the fact that Van Gogh didn't earn recognition for his artistic abilities while he was still alive,
