7th Age's 15 Minutes of Fame

We learned about Andy Warhol and his "Pop Art" Portraits. Using mirrors and working step by step we drew ourselves as realistically as possible. I made 6 copies for the students to then color, this works to give it a silk screen effect. For the first portrait we used realistic colors for the following two portraits we used only cool and warm colors. The next time that they came back to class we learned the vocabulary word monochrome and complementary colors and used these palettes in our fourth and fifth portraits. The last portrait was all about playing with patterns. The self portraits look fantastic up on the wall for Grandparents Day next week, come see them for yourself!
